Song Information:

This is a short version of the Ghazal. I also have a complete ghazal recorded which is about 9 minutes long. Thank you Mr. Sayeed for the beautiful tune to this Ghazal and Surendra Mistry for excellent Tabla on this track. Ghazals of Ghalib are difficult to understand. This is probably one of his simplest ones and hence is very popular. Here is a shot at translation in English. again wet eyes came to mind heart and liver became thirsty for lament life would have passed somehow or other why did your road come to mind? now that! is a wilderness-type wilderness! having seen the desert, my house came to mind against Majnun, in childishness, Asad, I had picked up a stone-- when {my own head came to mind / I recollected myself} Thank you music lovers again for continued support. Shekhar Phatak
