Biography

Sujata Pakrashi (Lahiri) started her dancing career under the guidance of her Guru Smt. Kanan Sen in Kolkata. She learnt the finer nuances of Kathak From the legendary Kathak Maestro Padmabibhushan Pt. Birju Maharaj and Pt. Jaikishan Maharaj. She successfully completed her Diploma Hons. & Post Diploma topping her batch from the Kathak Kendra, New Delhi, National Institute of Kathak Dance. She is an exceptionally talented upcoming dancer who combines her excellent rhythmic sense with her graceful movements and her subtle yet compelling Abhinaya enthralling her audience. Her outstanding and refreshing skills in choreography and ballet within the boundaries of Kathak dance form have been widely appreciated by her audience home and abroad.
