Biography
Amit Roy was born in an art loving family. His father used to play guitar and Amit grew up in an atmosphere of music. He was certainly attracted to and interested in music from a very early age . At that time Jazz music was very popular. Amit listened to records of great musicians and became fascinated. He learnt guitar under the guidance of well known teacher shri Rajat Nandy and shri Muktibroto Banerjee in Kolkata. He creates his own individual style of playing,distinctive and unique,and his influence has been widespread. He is an graded artiste in western music of All India Radio. He teaches guitar at his place or at students place near churchgate, colaba or Marine Lines area.
