A bit about the artist

Born late into a liberal family, where the mother was an ardent devotee of Shri Dilip Kumar Roy (renowned singer and philosopher of Bengal) and Ma Indira Devi, and influenced her love for the Mandir and Bhajan singing. She started singing devotional songs at an early age of five and that was the beginning of her love of music. She went on to learn Hindustani Classical Music from the Bhatkhande School of Music from the age of eight and then more recently from Dr. Gurinder Kaur, a disciple of Smt. Kishori Amonkar, in the Jaipur-Atrauli gharana of music. Her classical training (over 20 years) forms the foundation to explore and sing WORLD MUSIC, including pop, ghazals, blues, film music etc. It also landed her a musical role in Mira Nair\'s movie \"MONSOON WEDDING\". Recently performed \" Sounds of India\" musical concert for the World Bank in Washington D. C. to packed International audiences.

Her song \"Madhaniyan\" is a fusion of traditional North Indian wedding folk with jazz. The piognant lyrics of a bride leaving her home, the beloved daughter of loving parents setting out to embark on new and unfamiliar journey in her life... the mood is uplifted with melodious strains of the saxophone .......

More Trivia:
-Was leader of School Choir. Actively participated in inter-school and college Western & Indian music competitions, often standing in the first three positions.
-Participated and won two Close-up Antakshri programs on TV, including a recent musical show on the festival of Holi. Performed songs written by Ex-PM of India, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee on National TV for the 50 years celebration of Indian Independence.
-Worked on stage with Prime Time Theatre Group - Lillette Dubey and Sita Raina - in musicals like \"Me and My Girl\", all over India.
-Has been singing both Indian and western music for jingles, informal and formal gatherings.
-Sings Kirtan in Gurdwaras for big occasions (like the Guru\'s Birthday) along with her Guru.

Music

Music
Music is one of the most fascinating art forms of human expression. Music is expressing your inner thoughts and communicating through musical notes. To the scientists, music is an art form consisting of sound and silence expressed through time. To some, it is an art of arranging sound and words in an orderly sequence. In reality, music means different to different people. Music is unique in each person's life. To a musician, music is their life. They eat, breathe, and live music. Music is their passion. For others, music is a hobby, a pastime. Music is something that arouses interest and is pleasurable. The casual fan may learn about music, how to read music, how to sing, or how to play a musical instrument, but they do not have the all encompassing passion a musician possesses. Music is a means of relaxation for some, while others simply enjoy listening to the sounds, melodies, and rhythms that music brings to their ears, minds, and hearts.

Whatever music means to you, Zingerbay is for everyone. It is a music site created by two musicians who eat and breathe music. It was designed for all kinds of musicians, dancers and listeners. If you are a singer, sing your heart out. If you dance, upload your videos, if you play an instrument, put up your work for the whole world to listen to, if you are a music educator, share your knowledge with us. All of us can work together to create something new. Come and express yourself on Zingerbay.

Many Zinger artists have requested me to help them with their singing techniques. Some have requested me to help them make better listeners. I am really honored to have this opportunity. I will try my best to share what I know. I will start with an article next week on Singing. We will go over topics like voice quality, vocal range and precautions of your vocal chords. I will talk about some breathing and singing techniques as well.

Please send your comments and suggestions to me at Shekhar@zingerbay.com

WHAT IS MUSIC?

What is music? The word is such a vague term covering everything from the whistle of a janitor to the beauty of Beethoven’s 5th. The American Heritage Dictionary describes music as “The art of organizing tones to produce a coherent sequence of sounds intended to elicit an aesthetic response in a listener.”
True as that may be, does it really give the description music deserves?

To begin with, we know that music is an art, and there are facts to support that statement. To start, we must agree that an art is something specifically created to initiate an emotional response from the person(s) experiencing it. Now because hearing is a sense, and music is something we hear, music is, therefore, an art. Of course, music is much more than organized tones. Music is also the life work of many people. Music is hundreds of sound-producing devices. And music is and has been the initiative of tears and smiles since the birth of mankind. But what characteristics must something hold to be considered “musical”? Must it be melodic? or could nails on a chalkboard be titled musical? Perhaps the term musical refers to something that merely grasps the attention of it’s listener through hearing?

Finally, is music always intending to “elicit an aesthetic response in a listener.”? Perhaps sometimes it is desired that music scare or anger the listener? Can’t music be a form of teasing or torturing its listener?

In conclusion, it is safe to say that the broad term music can be described in as many ways as a musician could perform a sonata. Maybe music isn’t meant to be explained. Maybe it’s just meant to be heard.

Music is science:
It is exact, specific; and it demands exact acoustics. A Conductor's full score is a chart, a graph which indicates frequencies, intensities, volume changes, melody, and harmony all at once and with the most exact control of time.

Music is mathematical:
It is rhythmically based on the subdivisions of time into fractions which must be done, not worked out on paper.

Music is a foreign language:
Most of the terms are in Italian, German, or French; and the notation is certainly not English - but a highly developed kind of shorthand that uses symbols to represent ideas. The semantics of music is the most complete and universal language.

Music is history:
Music usually reflects the environment and times of its creations, often even the country and/ or racial feeling.

Music is physical education:
It requires fantastic coordination of finger, hands, arms, lip, cheek, and facial muscles, in addition to extraordinary control of the diaphragmatic, back, stomach, and chest muscles, which respond instantly to the sound the ear hears and the mind interprets.

Music is all of these things, but most of all Music is art:
It allows a human being to take all these dry, technically boring (but difficult) techniques and use them to create emotion. That is one thing science cannot duplicate: humanism, feeling, emotion, call it what you will.

Congratulations for presenting a great program last night. It
provided a platform for new artists and an opportunity for the
music lovers of Houston to listen to them.
Just a suggestion from experience of having organized programs:
Public program to be limited to 2 1/2 hours duration to be
stretched maximum to 3 hours. There will always be some very
interested people who may stick around even for the whole night
but they may be entertained at private parties. After two hours,
disturbance is created when people start moving out. Some items could have been improved. However, this was a great effort. Again my
compliments to Shekhar and Surendra and the rest of the team who
worked very hard to present a show of this kind to introduce new artists.

How To Take Care Of Chronic Wounds At Home?

A wound is any type of break in the skin or the underlying tissues. Minor or acute wounds generally heal within a few days or weeks through conventional treatment but sometimes, the injuries are more substantial. When these acute wounds don’t heal, heal slowly or heal but tend to recur, it is known as chronic, non-healing wounds. An infection or in more severe cases, extreme trauma can lead to chronic wounds also. All chronic wounds occur as acute wounds but when the site of the wound gets infected and doesn’t heal within the normal healing period, it is an indication of chronic wounds.
Hello, to all the Zingers!!

Hello Everyone
This is a great platform to learn from others, as well as have some fun in singing whatever makes us feel good.

So I have posted some of my songs showing all sorts of moods. I am not a 'singer',nor do I have any sort of training, instead, I am just a fan of indian music and poetry..particularly the 'Oldies'. My true voice and personality is best suited for 'slow' and 'serious' songs. Like many others, I'm also a big fan of Kishore and love his slow and romantic numbers. I also like to sing Ghazals, but have hard time in finding the tracks, so you would not hear many ghazals from me, except some of Mukesh and Rafi.

Oh..yes, just FYI, at times I do get into "Dard E Disco" mood as well.I create digital music and do some remixing as well when time permits....So stay tuned for all sorts of entertainment from my side.

Sit back, relax and ENJOY!

Cheers!

Ricky

Withdrawal Symptoms...

A Heroin addict in rehab going through withdrawal symptoms...
A Crack addict in rehab going through withdrawal symtpoms...
An Alchoholic in rehab going through withdrawal symptoms..
There is rehab for almost all addictions...
What about love? Where is the rehab for the ones that have a broken heart??? After all there is enough proof now that people can die of a broken heart....
After all love is an addiction too!
The depictions of all the above addicts through film, books, etc are heartrending accounts. To watch a person in utter despair flailing aroung for that "fix" is difficult to watch or understand. They would die or kill for that antidote, For their deliverance. The fatalism surrounding addiction is a dark reality.
But no one has ever come up with rehab for lovers. Why?
Lovers go through all of the withdrwals that a person with all the above addiction goes through.
Tears, rage, pleading, disgust, need, screaming..and more.
The jilted one goes through similar pain these addicts endure.
Many relapse even after they have been "cured". Does anyone know why?
Or the feeling that no one can fill the void in their lives leads to their dangerous life threatening addiction again?
What of the lover who has no recourse?
Can he or she find solace in rebounding? Another lover perhaps? But that is just like placing salve on a festering wound. It never works.
Surgery is required to seal it. Maybe amputate it.
How does one do that with a heart? Its all very well to say...
"you are weak if you let someone else govern your mind and heart to the extent that they render you helpless and heartbroken".
Perhaps. How much strength is required for that?
Rehab for lovers. ITS TIME.

For those music fans who enjoy the songs of Paul Simon, Cat Stevens and James Taylor then look out for British singer/songwriter Gary Tipping. He has a unique way of touching the heart and soul of a listener with his soft vocal style and emotive song writing. This is folk/pop at its best.

Gary Tipping-artist review

With a light and airy falsetto vocal style, Gary Tipping, is standing on the forefront of musical mastery. This independent artist from the United Kingdom is far from elementary when it comes to his music styling.

Gary is a self-taught musician that has natural talent. His guitar and keyboard is the playground in which his esoteric lyrics find a home. This soulful singer has an innate ability to connect with his listener through the leaps and bounds of ballads. With powerful introductions and hearty melodies each song provides an in-depth look through sound into this artist’s deepest thoughts. Writing and producing his own music is only a small portion of the talent and genius behind this British phenomenon. His acoustic/folk genre is only a corner of his capabilities.

Gary Tipping is an amazing artist with a bright future still ahead. In the past he has performed up to 300 shows a year and while he is no longer planning tours, his current venues include performing on stage for charitable events and working in studio. He currently writes and produces for himself and other artists in the industry.

"Cash" refers replica watch to the credit card is not through the normal legal procedures (ATM or cash), and counter by other means of credit card will be the money in cash, also don't pay recievable withdraw cost behavior. lv bag Bank, For recent intensified credit card, bank cashed in 2010 Shanghai headquarters on July 26, cash card is illegal, central Banks are cash card will be credited personal credit system, behavior directly gucci affect the individual credit records. Because the credit card user has the highest 56 days "consumption" period, the cardholder interest-free during this period, when taking "avoid breath period" can use either bank loans and pay interest. So say credit card in cash, cash makes the bank at the same time avoid high cost, equivalent to obtain what a interest-free loans, provides allure extremely. Simply gucci bags
speaking, cash, credit card is through other means to withdraw cash card within the limit of behavior. Therefore, in the way of cash card and Internet even appeared unceasingly, appear many netizens to cash the BBS and experience ReTie, credit card, credit risk is further amplified with illegal businessmen and illegal intermediary participation of our country, and a great influence on the financial order. Credit card loans to individuals cash as a personal 10: such as credit CARDS and each quota for $10,000, so he can get by taking the 10 million loan, if he does not need, can temporarily cash, bank The vicissitudes of the stone wouldn't accept his interest, credit card loans to individuals to be cashed, even cheaper than loans, when not won't have interest. So the bank will continue to strengthen risk management. Part of the credit card of bank of a installment, consumer can instalment, the installment is credit card, credit limit for staging the amount available within the credit card, then will reduce the cardholder can use these Winter sonata bank credit card "consumption" first instalment twice: once, use, and then staging limit credit card once one-time directly within the limit of amount available, so that they could finish consumer credit limit consumption amount + installment in the amount of available amount. Then use the cash, you can easily appeared set quotas and staging within the limit of credit kaka, thus realizing the credit card doubled to cash! Example: the credit limit is a person is 20,000 yuan, installment, so it can go to the mall to buy the designated things out, so 30,000 had doubled to cash!yzz

The biggest is that if everyone can see it and Australia ugg boots down it, what distinguishes the best from the worst?wow gold Many may say this is an elitist attitude, but I disagree. What makes buy wow gold players strive to play better than seeing someone in better gear? Nothing. If you can get something easily without great effort or skill, the reward is almost meaningless.

When pain peak, the last minute, that is his moment of awakening. Tagore -
Recently, a friend and I often the north face jackets bitterness: say your troubles too busy all day, have a thing, to solve the problem, not all dominated by his plan. Of course, I advised him to let him put something, try to relax, to the scenic spot to come loose beguilement, or spend some time to relax muscle motion... Though I speak of the rational, but he didn't do, because he was reluctant to leave his plan, forget to solve his problems, have been portefeuilles chasing dreams.
In my opinion, he has been very full, he should be satisfied with their status. He didn't because nothing but wasted, he was aware of their plight, know oneself everyday want what to do is more important than he has been trying. He is happy, because he realized his troubles to overcome it. He can make progress everyday, everyday in perfect oneself.
Worry is a kind of vente de sac happiness. No worries, like people lost the direction of life, in the crowd of stray, People no worry, don't know oneself of position is uncertain. No worries, we don't know what the today, because we do not go to think, we will be very comfortable. No worries, then we have the power, we yearn to life, since the carefree today is no worry, we will not go to want how to make today more meaningful. You may say, no sac a main en cuir trouble this much good, want to do is doing. Right! But kind for a long time, will in the empty. Once the empty spirit, we will lose the life, who were not useless, but each one of us is ordinary mortals, we not brilliant, but our honed in battlefield, rarely see lazy soldiers can win the battle, only by doing will follow.
Worry is a kind of happiness. Let us understand his troubles existence value, I should feel lucky because we needed. We solve the prix sac a main trouble yourself in helping others to solve problems, not our existence these troubles will come to others. The trouble is that it can we work hard and study hard, let us develop character of self-empowerment, The trouble is that it makes our steps more robust, let us each day to enrich the. Perhaps for our troubles has brought much inconvenience, but it gives us more encouragement inspired ceinture homme us to work,. In the process of efforts to enjoy the perspiration sweat, tears of regret later replaced.
Our life is a series of different annoyance, when there was the trouble, grew up and have grown troubles, yesterday, tomorrow will have trouble. We always escape not worry, but instead is because these troubles inspire us, let our life more rich. Plat-making, no pains, no gains. As long as you are willing but the Jackdaw to work. I believe that the more trouble, who, who achievement in the struggle process is to enjoy the happiness enjoy this process.
After entering university, less than courses. The high school that no pressure, after all, enjoy playing bai said university will have a good time. Lesson in detection oneself wrong, as the years passed, I found myself in a day, no desire to have, is the unexamined squandering his youth. As lu xun in chronic suicide, what does not know oneself. Don't you worry that some small and angrily gravamen, you have proved your troubles without dust and alive. Angry only hurt yourself, is a kind of happiness.
